South Kyle Wind Farm Community Benefit Funds

South Kyle is an onshore wind farm developed and operated by Vattenfall in East Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway. The Dalmellington Parish Development Trust (DPDT)  administers and distributes community benefit funds delivered by the South Kyle Wind Farm.

From 18th September 2023 two Development Officers were appointed to source and manage funding with the aim of regenerating Dalmellington Parish. These positions are funded by SKWF. The Trust aims to work with the community to make Dalmellington Parish a great place to live and visit.

This SKWF Community Development Funding has been released to the communities of Dalmellington, Carsphairn, Patna and New Cumnock to enable these communities to better formulate and progress their community’s goals and aspirations. The majority of the SKWF funding will come in larger portions allocated to major flagship projects that can effect real change; the first of these will be the new inclusive bike track in Dalmellington.  DPDT was also able to secure funding from this fund to purchase Dunaskin Doon Bowling Club in August 2023. Each community has also been allotted a Local Community Fund and a Training & Education Fund. DPDT will administer these funds on behalf of Dalmellington Parish.

DPDT launched the Local Community Fund and Training & Education Fund on 1 November 2023.
