Community Snapshot

The Parish of Dalmellington covers the areas of Bellsbank, Burnton, Dalmellington and Waterside.

Community facilities and organisations include Bellsbank Community Wing, Dalmellington Community Centre, Dalmellington Band and its Junior Band, The Zone Initiative Ltd, Scouts, Cadets, an accredited training centre, Doon Valley Amateur Boxing Club and East Ayrshire Leisure facilities including a swimming pool. There are also many small businesses in the area including a petrol station, repair garages, a variety of shops, cafes, takeaways, pubs and hairdressers.

Youth facilities are well-established, with The Zone Initiative hosting youth clubs in  Bellsbank and Dalmellington. 

Outdoor spaces in The Parish are abundant, including a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) near Dalmellington Community Centre and a similar facility in Bellsbank and a Community Cycle Track.  There are also children’s playgrounds,  Dalmellington Bowling Club and Dunaskin Doon Bowling Club.

Dalmellington town centre is home to the Health Centre, a Fire Station and the Doon Valley Pharmacy.

There’s a regular bus service between the Parish Ayr and Cumnock/New Cumnock.
